These terms and conditions are intended to regulate the rights, obligations and responsibilities between Naver Webtoon and its members, as well as other necessary matters, in relation to the use of services provided by Naver Webtoon Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Naver Webtoon”).
(1) The definitions of terms used in these Terms and Conditions are as follows:
1. “Naver Webtoon Service” refers to the provision of content and other information and software (platforms, apps, etc.) such as programs of Naver Webtoon and Naver Corporation (hereinafter “Naver”) and its affiliates for use by users, regardless of the type of access device (meaning PCs, mobile phones, tablets, etc., but not limited thereto, and including any form of hardware, devices, etc. used as tools for accessing information such as content developed in the future; the same applies hereinafter).
2. “User” refers to members and non-members who use the services provided by Naver Webtoon.
3. “Member” refers to a user who has registered with Naver in accordance with the Naver Terms of Use, agrees to these Terms of Use, and uses the Naver Webtoon service.
4. “Paid Service” refers to various digital contents and various services provided by Naver Webtoon for a fee.
5. “Post” refers to text, pictures, photos, videos, and various files and links in the form of information such as codes, letters, images, voices, sounds, pictures, and videos posted on the Naver Webtoon service by members while using the Naver Webtoon service.
6. “Video content” refers to digital movie files, digital broadcast files, or other digital video files among the paid services provided by Naver Webtoon.
(2) Among the terms used in these Terms and Conditions, any term not defined in this Article shall be governed by the provisions of the Naver Terms of Use, Service Use Guide, relevant laws and regulations, and individual terms and conditions (as defined in these Terms and Conditions), and for all other terms, general practices shall apply.
Naver Webtoon posts its personal information processing policy, company name, representative name, address, phone number/e-mail address, business registration number, mail-order business report number, customer center, etc. on the service home screen so that members can easily see them.
Compensation for damages to members due to defects in paid services, etc. shall be in accordance with the Content User Protection Guidelines.
(1) If Naver Webtoon cannot provide the Naver Webtoon service due to a natural disaster or other force majeure, Naver Webtoon is exempt from liability regarding the provision of the Naver Webtoon service.
(2) Naver Webtoon is not responsible for any disruption in the use of Naver Webtoon services due to the member’s fault.
(3) Naver Webtoon is not responsible for the reliability, accuracy, etc. of information, data, and facts posted by members in relation to Naver Webtoon services.
(4) Naver Webtoon is exempt from liability in cases where transactions are made between members or between members and third parties through the Naver Webtoon service.
(5) Naver Webtoon shall not be liable for the use of the Naver Webtoon service provided free of charge, unless otherwise specified in relevant laws.
(1) Any lawsuit filed between Naver Webtoon and its members shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
(2) Litigation regarding disputes between Naver Webtoon and its members shall be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the local court with jurisdiction over the member's address at the time of filing the lawsuit, or, if there is no address, the member's place of residence. However, if the member's address or place of residence is unclear at the time of filing the lawsuit, the court with jurisdiction shall be determined in accordance with the Civil Procedure Act.
(3) In the case of members with overseas addresses or residences, the Seoul Central District Court of the Republic of Korea shall be the court of jurisdiction for lawsuits regarding disputes arising between Naver Webtoon and members, notwithstanding the preceding paragraph.
These Terms apply from January 31, 2024.
